Yazmeen Garcia, LCMHC-A, LCAS-A, NCC
Yazmeen is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A), a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (LCAS-A), and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She received her Masters in Counseling with an addictions concentration in May 2020 from UNC Charlotte’s Counseling program. Yazmeen’s calling has never diverted from the fact that she wants to help others for a living. She encourages clients to grow at their own pace with the acknowledgment that their past can have a significant impact on their current struggles. Her hope for each client is for that individual to feel no judgment, congruency, and unconditional positive regard. Yazmeen uses this approach because she feels that each client is unique and can learn how to find oneself and continuously learn more about themselves. She hopes that clients understand that they are not defined by a label, diagnosis, traumatic experience or struggle.
She primarily uses a Person/Client-Centered and Gestalt based therapy, along with CBT and Solution-Focused techniques. Yazmeen additionally offers Christian counseling by request. She works with clients struggling with substance abuse, addiction(s), mental health, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-esteem issues, religious/spiritual factors, identity matters, stress management, and those on the autism spectrum.
